The 91st SOFCOT Congress, held in November 2016 will be marked by innovation:
Technological innovation first, with the arrival of digital technology in the Congress’ operating rooms. And in all other forms: hybrid rooms (CT or MRI in the operating room), sterilizable digital tablets, management software, decision support, from preoperative planning, computer assisted surgery, augmented reality, simulators, 3D model patient, 4D ultrasound etc. These digital technologies will revolutionize our operating rooms in the years and decades to come. Orthopedics is a specialty that is well suited to these applications and it is not futile to try to be a bit futuristic in 2016.
Innovation in the choice of the dates of the event: The congress will take place from November Tuesday 8 to Friday 11, and will thus include November Friday 11 to allow our colleagues to be more readily available...
Innovation in the practical arrangements of the congress, achieved through a new events partner, whose challenge will be to give more impetus and a new life to this almost centennial meeting.
In addition to the above-mentioned topics, the scientific program will remain classic with 3 symposia (results of reversed prostheses in recent fractures of humerus upper end, the posttraumatic osteoarthritis, fractures of the lower limbs in teenager) and 9 round tables, some very specialized, some very practical and updated. The Congress basic organization remains similar to the previous years with its educational conferences, the specialties day, the Orthorisq meeting, the CPD sessions and the numerous communication sessions.
The 2016 Congress will combine tradition and innovation, hoping to make the most of both.
